On this day, everything changed.

The physical pain had been replaced by fatigue, primarily mental fatigue.

The intense foot pain had now reduced itself to… a nose itch.

And the overall physical and psychological exhaustion I had been feeling for weeks had mutated into a general feeling of tiredness.

Turigrinos rules The Way. The pilgrimage had disappeared: it was the start of the Black Friday experience.

Ready to finish, mentally checked out, the most exciting thing today was Metal Gear Kitten, a foreign spy keeping tabs on unaware pilgrims.

As the Wise Pilgrim app anticipated, the 100 km milestone is indeed the most vandalised item on the Camino.

Oh well.

Six hours, done by noon, climbed the stairs into Portomarin and… found myself immersed into buses full of hundreds and hundreds of pensioners and turigrinos.


Portomarin is very small, and it was filled to the brim with tourists. I just wanted to move on. And I did, the day after: my boredom would trigger something unexpected…
