Stage 10 – the day I escaped Pain to find Death
Start: 8:00, 8 ºC, rain
End: 14:30
Distance: 23/237.4 Km
OST: Vita, Dalla Morandi
My first day without painkillers.

Physical pain had given way to some lukewarm self-reflection.
E.g.
“find your crowd and cultivate it”
or
“in a competitive organisation, jerks will be at a disadvantage (under a certain seniority…)”

Some pilgrims do embark on this journey expecting some brilliant epiphany.
Me? I just wanted to walk.
And chistorra. I definitely wanted chistorra.
But… life-changing epiphany? No idea what that is.

El Gato De La Muerte
Actually, I didn’t stay at Las Almas.
Las Almas is a fantastic albergue with a lovely German couple running it.
They are lovely. I highly recommend them. However… they have cats in the albergue, and i am allergic.

So, I bolted out as soon as I could, as I wanted to maintain that little thing called Life.
The albergue opposite them had no cats, and that made them the #1 alberuge in Espinosa del Camino. Highly recommended.
